Our mission at STRIDES is to assist and advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their pursuit of postsecondary education. Since 2019, we have supplied PATHS and Aggie ACHIEVE students at Texas A&M with scholarships and grants to help them pay their way through their programs.
STRIDES Scholarships
STRIDES scholarships are a one-time application due before the respective school year. These scholarships are intended to help students pay for the brunt of the cost of their program. Applications are open for approximately one month and will each be reviewed individually by the STRIDES team. Our STRIDES Scholarships are currently specific to the Aggie ACHIEVE and PATHS Certificate programs at Texas A&M University, but stay tuned for the expansion of these scholarships to other programs across the state and country.
Recipients will be notified in the summer, and their final scholarship amounts will be provided to them before the beginning of the following Fall semester. Click here for more information.
The Ersa Perez STRIDES Scholarship
The Ersa Perez STRIDES scholarship is a one-time application due before the respective school year. This scholarship can be awarded to any student attending a post-secondary program currently within the STRIDES list of programs (see the scholarship specific page for details). These scholarships are intended to help students pay for the brunt of the cost of their program. Applications are open for approximately one month and will each be reviewed individually by the STRIDES team.
Grants
STRIDES grants are recurring, meaning students can apply throughout the school year. These grants are intended to help current students with the various unexpected and miscellaneous costs that come with being a college student. The STRIDES team individually reviews each application as they are received, and students will be notified within 14 days of their submission whether they have received a grant or not. Applications will not close until or unless STRIDES deems it appropriate.
